Inventor
comes up with really sound idea
INVENTOR Marc Greenberg is set to "pump up the volume" with the
word's first inflatable loudspeaker.
The 26-year-old electronics engineer from Rudheath, Northwich, created
the first prototype on his kitchen table - using materials costing
just £3. Now Marc is hoping his venture will take off - quite literally
- because when filled with helium the speakers can float in the
air. "I didn't set out to create this product. I just like messing
about with electronics as a hobby." he said. Based on a metallic-style
balloon available form any card shop, it can be plugged into a walkman
or hi-fi to play a high quality sound.
Invention
Marc, who is set to feature on BBC 1's "Tomorrow's World" with his
invention on November 19, is now planning to market the speaker
with a team of colleagues. "The balloon can come in any shape or
size and can easily be printed with a design featuring a company
logo, photograph or special message. "It can be collapsed for easy
storage and distribution, and can be used as a PA system set up
in minutes. "When filled with helium it can float in the air providing
all round sound. "We are now looking for a company to market our
invention." added Marc, who has launched his own company "Floating
Sounds"
